Have you heard of the “latte factor,” how small recurring purchases can prevent bigger goals if unchecked? Today we are talking about reframing our mindset about spending. It is easy to spend $3 - $6 on a morning latte, but how much are you investing in coffee each year? 200 days of purchasing a $4.50 latte can cost you $1,350! If you were to reduce this small spending, what would you do with that extra money?

What is your opportunity cost - what are you giving up with your small daily spending habits? Practicing trade-off-thinking can help us to consciously ask ourselves if we would rather have this now or something bigger later. Immediate gratification and convenience can keep us stuck in unhelpful mindsets and habits. Listen in as Courtney and Jen discuss their experiences and practice of cognitive reframe to help them to reach bigger goals than the immediate gratification of now.

Whether you are saving to bulk up your savings account or budgeting for a family vacation, practicing delayed gratification and trade-off-thinking can help you reach your goals.

Celebrating a loved one’s birth is a special occasion. In the month of May, Jennifer and Courtney have a lot of birthday celebrations and gifting ideas to share. We want to challenge yourself to reframe how you give gifts this year. Although receiving a physical gift is appreciated, accumulating gifts and things can be overwhelming.

Listen in as Courtney and Jen discuss their experiences with gift receiving and how they have challenged themselves to reframe how to give and receive thoughtful and memorable gift experiences and shared memories.

Some of the best gift ideas are not things at all. Spending quality time with someone, experiencing a new adventure, or reminiscing about fond memories together can sometimes be more valuable and impactful than a physical gift.

Give the gift that lasts. What do you enjoy receiving from others? And what gift giving habits have you chosen to help reduce physical objects in your home?

Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? It began in 1949 with the intention to reduce stigma related to mental health and encourage advocacy by sharing resources and early intervention.

There is still stigma surrounding mental health, but mental health is just as important as physical health. Listen in as Courtney and Jennifer discuss more about mental health resources, screening and support as well as discuss their personal experiences with mental health challenges.

We have “more good days together.” Help us break the stigma of mental health. Share your stories and successes about  mental health with others in your support group or with us below.

Congratulations if you have begun your decluttering journey with Reframe & Reclaim! Once you have started the decluttering process, we want to encourage you to create supportive systems to keep your space organized and maintained.
The last step of the R.E.C.L.A.I.M. process is the most challenging and time consuming, however, it is the step that ensures that all of your decluttering effort is not in vain. Maintaining your space involves creating systems that function for you and your family, communication of these systems, and accountability for all living in your home.
You may not realize it, but you already have systems in your home now. Are these systems helping to maintain your space or do they need re-evaluation?
Listen in as Jen and Courtney discuss their personal experiences with systems and reimagining their systems to improve the aesthetic and function of their homes.

Have you ever had trouble letting go of an item? What was the excuse you told yourself that kept you stuck with more clutter?

Decluttering can feel daunting and overwhelming. Many people doubt themselves when attempting the decluttering process, trying to make decisions about all of the items in their home. Jen and Courtney discuss how to take the emotion out of decluttering one space at a time.

Instead of considering an entire home overhaul, start with one category of items that has little emotional attachment. For example, start with the sock drawer or the linen closet to get experience with the decluttering process and begin to trust your decision-making.

Listen in as we discuss our personal experiences as well as client testimonials of the decluttering process with Reframe & Reclaim.
